By combining an interior mounted powered condenser mic with our proven RG-03 sensor, we have produced a reso guitar system that provides a fullness of sound that was not possible before. In addition to the internally mounted powered condenser microphone, a new 2 channel Mini Pre 2 outboard belt clipable preamp powers the mic and preamps both signals. Existing RG-03 Owners - haven't been forgotten. M Kits are available to upgrade your existing Schatten RG-03 pickup. Other brands of resonator pickups - The RG-03 M-Kit upgrade will work properly with other brands of resonator pickups. Notes: If you already have a magnetic pickup, you have two different choices for upgrading: 1) For high to extreme stage volumes add an RG-03 under cone pickup to the existing magnetic and then preamp the two signals with our new Mini Pre 2 two channel preamp. 2) For normal volume levels use the RG-03 M-Kit to add the mic, 2 channel preamp, cables and installation materials. Schatten NR-2 Series Resonator Guitar Pickups Designed specifically for National style biscuit bridged resonator instruments The brand new NR-2 series of pickups is our way of providing a really good sounding pickup that can be mounted quickly and easily to National style instruments without having to drill any holes for anything when installing the passive versions. The NR-2's in passive format are available with your choice of either of two jack assemblies (one with a volume control) - both of which simply adhere to the instrument and snuggle in right next to to the tailpiece. Passive NR-2's will work properly going into virtually any 'normal' electric guitar amp. However, use of a preamp either onboard the instrument (utilizing our Artist II endpin jack preamp) or outboard (with our Schatten Preamp / DI) is recommended. If you're plugging into a PA system or into an acoustic amp, then a preamp is going to be necessary. The NR series offers the following features: * Installs quickly - the sensing element attaches to the face of the saddle with 3M VHB tape * Excellent feedback resistance * Light weight. Does not alter the acoustic sound of the instrument * No modifications necessary - The entire passive pickup system may be mounted without drilling any holes. * If you wish to have a preamp onboard then the NR-2A provides you with an NR-2 sensor combined with our Artist II endpin jack preamp (that doesn't require an onboard battery). * Superb Sound A word about 'passive' and 'active' pickups: Players who will be plugging directly into a 'normal' guitar amp will find that they get good sound quality from the NR-2 in passive form. No preamp should be required in this situation. Players who must plug directly into a mixing board will most likely need to preamp their signal in order to match up with what most mixers require in terms of impedance and signal strength. If you wish to have the electronics on board the instrument then you should be purchasing the 'A' or Active model: the NR-2A. Remember that the Artist II endpin jack preamp that comes as part of the NR-2A can be run from an onboard 9 volt battery or from outboard phantom power of up to 48 volts dc or from an outboard battery box. Should you wish to use a preamp but don't want any electronics onboard then you should purchase an NR-2 in passive format and add one of our outboard Preamp/DI units to your pickup system. If you already own an outboard guitar preamp, the NR-2 pickups in passive format should work properly with just about anything you might have. This pickup has proven to be very popular with our players and artists and it provides great sound quality with good anti-feedback characteristics. TC passive models can be installed in a non-invasive manner without any modifications to your instrument. The TC Series is now available in three passive models and one active preamped model to meet all your playing needs. In active format, the TC-A now comes with our latest generation of Artist II endpin jack preamp featuring multiple power capability. This means that the preamp can be run from an onboard 9 volt battery, or from Phantom Power (up to 48 volts dc), or from an outboard battery box. So, the choice is yours: "Do I put a battery in there.....or don't I?" The TC pickup mounts to the side of the T Bridge with a very thin layer of supplied putty. As you can see from the above photo, this particular installation is a more permanent one and will use either a side mounted jack or our Artist II preamp. A very small hole has been drilled in the deck to allow the pickup lead wire to access the area under the deck. This would only be done for permanent installations. SDTCPL Schatten Tri-Cone Resonator Passive Pickup Details to be added soon SDTCSTD Schatten Tri-Cone Resonator With Jack Assembly The low profile jack assembly is only 1/2" high and may be mounted either from a thin stand-off plate that adheres securely to the area under the tailpiece or may be mounted directly to the top with 3M VHB tape. SDTCPRO Schatten Tri-Cone Resonator With Jack Assembly + Volume Control The low profile jack assembly is only 1/2" high and may be mounted either from a thin stand-off plate that adheres securely to the area under the tailpiece or may be mounted directly to the top with 3M VHB tape. The TC Pro with volume control provides a non-invasive means of putting an output jack assembly on a tricone without damage.
